So one of the UK’s festival heavyweights has teased us all with a handful of acts that we can expect to feast our eyes on over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Reading & Leeds will return in the Summer for yet another year of star-studded performances, trollied teens and memorable moments; but what can we expect from the cherry on top of the worldwide festival cake?
Metallica, a band that for over 30 years has commanded every crowd they have given the honour of gracing, irrelevant of it’s size, are set to headline one of the evenings, with the newly announced Mumford & Sons set to top their 2013 Glastonbury Pyramid Stage closing performance. Other acts you can expect to see across the weekend include: Deadmau5, a Canadian progressive-house producer who persistently features in DJ Mag’s Top 10 and is the face, well ‘mau5head’, behind hits including ‘Ghosts ‘N’ Stuff’ and ‘Arguru’; Bastille, a four-piece from London who have stormed the charts, festivals and even Fifa soundtracks since rising to fame in 2013 with their infectious hit, ‘Pompeii’; Rebel Sound, a newly-formed supergroup and current RedBull Culture Clash reigning champions consisting of drum & bass gods Chase & Status, Rage, Shy FX & David Rodigan – expect astronomical chest-crushing bass from these guys; Jamie T, the priceless gem inside any noughties’ indie rocker’s heart, has made a comeback after 4 years with the release of his 2014 album ‘Carry On The Grudge’; Royal Blood, the new hard rock duo on the block who have backing from the likes of the Foo Fighters and legendary guitarist, Jimmy Page and are one of iTunes ‘One’s to Watch in 2015’. Look out for ‘Afterglow’ producer Wilkinson, electronica trio Years & Years, self-taught Birmingham DJ Hannah Wants and so many more!
